On December 15, 2005, The River Alliance hosted a special preview that began the story of 12,000 years of history along the Congaree Creek. 

At the request of the River Alliance, the National Park Service is creating a Cultural Resource Study of the river region's own Congaree Creek.  The study will provide a popular account of the 12,000 years of history concentrated just off I-77 & I-26.  The study commissioned four original paintings to highlight key benchmarks of history.  

John Jameson, Sr Archaeologist of the Southeastern Archaeology Center, & Martin Pate, the artist, presented the artwork and previewed the stories of the 12,000 years of history along the Congaree Creek.
