Almost ready to start is the
Congaree Riverwalk at the foot of Senate Street. The Congaree Riverwalk, a 20 acre
component of the Three Rivers Greenway, will run from the proposed EdVenture
Museum on Gervais Street south to the existing Granby Park. Visitors can
explore portions of the historic Columbia Canal. River paddlesport users
can enter or exit at the Senate Street landing. The bathroom is a 1905
craftsman style pavilion with new showers so paddlers can clean up and hit the
Vista.
Congaree Riverwalk will offer its visitors one mile of lighted central paths which will
accommodate all levels of physical access including baby carriages and
wheelchairs. Running and mountain bike trails will run along
the river. The park will also have a grass terraced amphitheater set in
the trees with a
nearby meditative "labyrinth." A bridge will allow access under the Gervais Street bridge to a plaza north of the Gervais Street bridge linking the
proposed EdVenture Museum to the Riverwalk.
Congaree Riverwalk and its features will
accommodate all visitors, even our four-legged friends. There will be
plenty of shaded parking, which will make this is a good place to start your
exploring. For more
